CAPSA joined to celebrate the World Food Day - Indonesia 2017

Mr. Masakazu ICHIMURA, Head of CAPSA participated in the tree planting ceremony, which took place on 19 October 2017, at the International World Food Day Expo in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The ceremony was conducted in conjunction with the Diplomatic Tour organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesia in celebration of the World Food Day 2017.

Under the theme of “Change the future of migration. Invest in food security and rural development”, the WFD tour included a visit to the model of sustainable utilization of peat soil land without burning, where villagers group successfully operates organic vegetation farming on peatland to generate additional economic livelihood while avoiding the burning of peat soil.

The tour also included a visit to a Aloe Vera processing factory, which effectively use Aloe Vera produced on peatland into export-quality products and creates hundreds of rural employment. To learn more on World Food Day 2017 Indonesia, visit
