SATNET regional workshop in India concluded

The SATNET Regional Workshop on Climate Resilient Smallholder Agricultural Farming Systems in South Asia was held in New Delhi from 24-27 June, 2013. The first two days of the event was devoted to a South Asia Regional Consultation on Climate Change Adaptation organized by the United Nations Disaster Management Team in India and attended by over 170 participants. The next two days comprised of a training programme on Climate Resilient Smallholder Agricultural Farming Systems that focused on ways to increase agricultural productivity in the context of climate change adaptation, and strengthened the awareness and knowledge of participants on climate resilient farming practices. The training was led by the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), New Delhi, and saw participation from 45 experts from government agencies, research institutions and civil society from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
