Abstract/Description

This working paper reviews the role of policy and investment in agriculture in three large countries namely Brazil, Indonesia and the Republic of Korea. The three papers presented in this working paper offer the opportunity to compare and identify common themes across three countries with very a different agroecological and socio-political context. The book brings together the development experiences, the country contexts, regulatory frameworks and incentive mechanisms of the three countries and identifies the most prominent features of those policies that facilitated, or constrained, agricultural transformation.
